- Goodbye 2025, Hello 2026
If you had to summarise Mobility in 2025 in one word, my bet it would be Autonomy. Waymo’s growth to 450,000 weekly paid rides. Uber’s 20ish autonomous partnerships, climaxing with its Lucid-Nuro partnership. Entrance of Chinese players the likes of Baidu and WeRide. OEMs such as Stellantis partnering with AV tech stacks, Pony ai in this case. And those examples are just the tip of the iceberg.
But mobility was more than that, for good and bad. Via went public. Renault closed Mobilise. Zipcar left London. Lyft acquired Freenow. Prosus acquired JET. Bolt & Uber acquired taxi companies. BluSmart shut down. Gett was acquired, in a year that signaled consolidation and a focus on profitability.
For myself - it was a busy year.
Entered Autonomy - via Buses Prepared a market overview on “L4 Autonomous Buses & Shuttles for Public and Mass Transport” - covering 12 OEMs, 8 AV Tech players and over 18 global projects. |  Imagry |
 Elmo | and Continued with Remote Driving Visited Elmo to check out the tech, working for a European car-share client. Watch a video I took. We’re moving forward, expecting remote driving to increase demand and lower operational costs. This is super exciting, with me managing the project for the client. |
Won the Essex MaaS Tender Working with ECR / HopOn and partnering with Liftango, our bid won. We are now in the process of launching our new MaaS solution. |  Travel Essex |
 RailUK | Won the DfT DPAYG Pilot Another win with ECR / HopOn - this time partnering with Worldline - to win the “Digital Pay-As-You-Go” pilot. We’re testing tap-in tap-out functionality across the UK. |
Developing Wireless Vehicle Charging Leading UK Business Development efforts for Electreon, I am amazed at how mature wireless charging is. So far I’ve helped build UK&I partnerships and expect more good news early Q2 🤞 |  Electreon |

Toward the end of this year I’ve rethought #movingpeople. It is the first time I’ve ever changed the format, and it reflects the growing autonomy trend. I’ve also crossed 5,000 subscribers - and keeping on growing.
